New Paragraph

Nadine Mahoney is a London-based artist whose practice explores the intersections of technology, materiality, and the human body. Working with paint, pigment, and glass, she reflects on identity, gender, and digital embodiment. Using dichroic and fused glass alongside fluorescent and metallic pigments that echo the glow of screens, the work negotiates the space between physical touch and digital perception. Mahoney's layered surfaces across canvas, aluminium, and glass probe how technology mediates selfhood and presence. Through scale, colour, and shifting form, her female figures challenge the male gaze, embodying resistance, transformation, and a fluid sense of autonomy.

Mahoney’s work has been exhibited internationally, with shows at University College London, the NARS Foundation (New York), The Java Project NY, and Bruton Art Factory. She has been shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize, the Beers Contemporary Prize, and was a finalist for the Threadneedle Prize. Her work has appeared in Time Out, Living Etc, and on the BBC, with commissions including the Conran Group and London Graphic Centre.
