Artefacts and Echoes explores the fractured nature of identity in a world shaped by digital technology. Through her material led practice, including glass, textiles and paintings on metal and wood Nadine Mahoney reflects on how our sense of self is influenced, reconstructed, and sometimes disrupted by technology.
Materiality, tactility, and femininity are at the heart of the work. The use of layered surfaces, textured forms, and hand-crafted detail offers a powerful contrast to the smooth, intangible quality of digital images. Inspired by the poetry of Erika Meitner, the series embraces the imperfect beauty of the body and celebrates the human experience of touch in an increasingly screen-based world.
